In order to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 throughout our gorgeous state, all of Hawaii goes into lock-down tonight at midnight for the next 37 days! Non-Essential businesses are mandated to close! Residents and visitors here in our Aloha state are being ordered to “stay-at-home”.

I am a small business owner in Hawaii and over the last two years I have fought hard to build my business- I have cried many tears, been fearful of losing everything, worked long hours “7 days a week” giving up my entire social life. Nevertheless, the struggle has helped me learn to relax knowing God loves me and sees my struggles. I have learned to give my needs to God and not to stress about them laying it all at our Provider’s feet. I am not from a wealthy family. I have a doctorate degree, but I did not get any financial or educational support from my family; I put myself through college. I am a single mom of three beautiful grown children and for the most part, I solely supported our family financially. All three of my children are college educated and are amazing, kind, loving, highly functional, independent adults.

Since last October my business had been experiencing a new and exciting time of growth and promise. New staff was hired; members where enjoying their services; clients at Koru Medical Spa were seeing amazing changes to their skin health and loving themselves more; and new services and products where being added almost every month. I have poured my heart and soul into Island Dermatology LLC and Koru Medical Spa, the fruition of my life-long dream, “to help people heal and feel beautiful and special”.

The Coronavirus is changing our lives drastically! Uncertainty is now everyone’s constant companion! Island Dermatology LLC is still open to see patients using tele-dermatology; however, the Medical Spa is not necessarily considered an “essential business”. Or is it?

Visiting Koru Medical Spa and receiving direct hands on treatments by caring, kind people is so much more than ladies just getting pretty with Lasers, facials, Botox and fillers! Koru Medical Spa is a place where clients fall in love with themselves from the inside out, hence our tag line and the meaning of a Koru – a new and beautiful you. During these times of uncertainty, I am asking Koru followers and supporters to go on a journey with me for the next 37 days to discover the new and beautiful you!

After our journey together we will be stronger, more grounded, more confident, and will enter a time of never seen BEAUTY that we will find within ourselves!

• The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. This book was the catalyst I needed to jump start my mornings. It is amazing the difference it will make in your day and overall life when you purposefully wake up and start your day positively!

The Second Step is to Start a Gratitude Journal

Starting tonight when you go to bed, make your last thoughts, thoughts of gratitude. Tomorrow when you wake up continue in thankfulness and gratitude. Make sure to write your thoughts down in your gratitude journal.
