10 Reasons to Peel
The words "Chemical Peel" can sound intimidating, but I like to think of them as a "reboot" for your skin. Not only are they important in maintaining your skin's health, but they are one of the most effective (and inexpensive) facial treatments there is, which is why I recommend getting one on a regular basis!
Here are my 10 reasons why you should be peeling:
1. They improve dull and uneven skin tone
Ever watched an HGTV renovation show where they tear up the ugly 70's shag carpet and unveil gorgeous original hardwood floors? Chemical peels do the same thing! A superficial peel allows new, younger looking, brighter skin to shine through.
2. They even out skin texture
Chemical peels are great for those who have uneven skin texture, such as acne scars or large pores. Peeling allows for new skin to grow and creates a smooth, even look.
3. They improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles
Chemical peels are a great way of reducing the appearance of those pesky fine lines. With a perfect skincare combination of chemical peels, and quality cosmeseutical grade topicals, you can kiss those wrinkles goodbye.
4. They reduce the appearance of dark spots and sun damage
All of those years lathering up in coconut oil in hopes of catching a bronzed tan catch up with you, resulting in dark spots and worst case-skin cancer. Chemical peels can reduce sun damage and help your skin to regenerate itself.
5. Fixes discoloration
Tired of blotchy-looking skin? Wasting your time and money on purchasing funky-colored concealers to cover up the red? Chemical peels can improve the appearance of your skin tone and help to create a more even complexion.
6. They shrink large pores and skin roughness
Chemical peels can reduce the appearance of large pores on your face, creating a more soft and even look and feel to the skin.
7. They are beneficial for almost everyone
Superficial chemical peels are appropriate for all Fitzpatrik skin types. There are chemical peels that can be used on every skin color without risk of hyperpigmentation. Whether you have sensitive skin or not, there is a chemical peel out there just for you!
8. The right peel can end your acne
The acids found in peels dive deep to unclog pores and skim the surface of your skin to get rid of black heads and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Just one of the reasons why I recommend patients with acne to get chemical peels regularly!
9. They are an inexpensive treatment
To get the most results out of your peels, it is recommended to get a series of three. This equals to $390, compared to the average cost of over $2,000 for laser skin resurfacing. Both treatments are used for the same purposes, but chemical peels are much more affordable!
10. They enhance the effectiveness of your topicals
As the acid lifts away dead skin cells and promotes the ongoing generation of collagen in your skin, allowing the younger skin to shine! Using the right cosmesceutical grade topicals in addition to peels allows your best skin to shine.
